Preparing my servers for EPM 11.2.2

EPM 11.2.2 is compatible with Windows Server 2016 operating system. Below is a screenshot from the certification matrix:

Hence I had two Windows servers upgraded to 2016 (64-bit).

Windows 2016

Then ensured the below prerequisites:

  • Apply Windows updates and reboot servers. Checked ✔
  • Validate ports to be used and resolve any conflicts. Checked ✔
  • Disable UAC for the installation account. Checked ✔
    • Go to Control Panel > User Accounts > User Accounts > Change User Account Control Setings:
  • Synchronize the clocks of all the servers in the installation. Checked ✔
  • Validate access between all servers to all other servers in the installation. Checked ✔
  • Disable the Anti-Virus software on the EPM systems at least for the duration of the installation. Checked ✔
  • Setup any shared file systems used in the installation. I didn't setup any share because I wasn't looking for high availability ❌
  • If you are configuring for high availability, you must set up a shared file system using UNC syntax that is accessible from all the servers in the deployment for the following:
    • Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Lifecycle Management artifact
    • Reporting and Analysis Repository data
    • Essbase Server (UNIX) application location (ARBORPATH)
  • Verify that the disk space required for the installation is available on the server. Checked ✔
    • Disk space and RAM requirements are approximate. The installation program checks for twice the required disk space, based on your product installation choices.
    • The recommended RAM requirement for all clients is 1 GB.
    • Web browser clients have no disk space requirements beyond those of the web browser.
    • Disk space does not include the common client components installed on the machine with Oracle Hyperion Foundation Services.
  • Client Disk Space and RAM Checked ✔

  • Server Disk Space and RAM Checked ✔

Followed the below checklist for the user account that will be used for installation/configuration:

  • The installation account needs to be set up with several required permissions and will need to remain after the installation is complete.  The Installation Account is utilized for all EPM patching. Checked ✔
  • Do not use the Administrator user to install and configure. Run EPM System Installer and EPM System Configurator as a user with administrator rights. Install and configure as an administrator and as the same user for all Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System products. Checked ✔
  • The account created for installation must have the following Local Policies: Checked ✔
    • Act as part of the OS.
    • Bypass Traverse Checking.
    • Log on as a botch job.
    • Log-on as a service.
  • The account should have full access to Windows/Temp, Temp and Oracle directories. Checked ✔

That's all, my servers ready!
